How do I select the material of the enclosing tube?
A quartz tube is recommended for use at temperatures below 900°C. It can also be used at 1000°C for short time. We can however not guarantee gas tightness of the quartz tube after using it at high temperature. Above 900°C we recommend to use alumina enclosing tubes. For high-pressure measurements a SS protection tube should be used either alone or together with an alumina enclosing tube. |
